What is a good boat to use for a towing service?

I am interested in starting a towing service and i was wondering what the best boat would be to get. What is a good boat to use for a towing service?
If you are going to tow and charge you will need a USCG License with a commercial assistance towing endorsement.

Your boat should be a twin engine, equipped with line, floats, and safety equipment. An enclosed helm area - you will need to be ready to go in any type of weather. Reinforced towing bit (to connect the line to). And more.....

This is what we use at our marina. Very durable, tested in Lake Huron, and we bought it at a repo sale for a song. We have 2 Merc 200 hp Verados, i would prefer inboards, but like i said, the price was right. Whatever you use, it should be bomb-proof, and have twin motors. Nothing more embarrassing than having your tow boat towed home.

45 Auto described well the kind I have seen used here on the Hudson River. Our local Sea Tow franchise uses Mako boats with dual outboards. They have been around for years so used ones should be out there. My Uuncle used to sell them back in the 70's. They are still in business.
