Can my licence be suspended for not paying a towing company?

My car was towed after I received a ticket saying that I needed to change a flat tire (i was out of town). The towing company is trying to charge me $700 for the lot fees. If the initial citation or warning was issued by a police officer, will my licence be suspended if I refuse to pay the towing company and refuse to retrieve my car?Can my licence be suspended for not paying a towing company?
The car must not be worth much if you are thinking of abandoning it.

If what you say is true....being out of town... it would seem that you have a valid reason to challenge the ticket.

BTW, I've never heard of being issued a ticket for a flat tire. The only reason for a ticket that I can think of is that The owner is responsible for the safe operation of his equipment and responsible for insuring that all maintenance / repairs are completed before operating the equipment. Usually an offer of help is the usual response. Is something else going on that you didn't mention?
