How can you tell a truck's towing capacity from a manufacturer's spec sheet?

I am looking to buy a boat. The Gross weight of the boat and trailer come to a combined weight of 4,285 lbs. (1,944kg). Most manufactuers do not list towing capacity on their sites, so my question is, is there a way to determine what this is based on the information provided on the company's website?

I do not want to buy a full size truck that can haul 15,000 lbs if there is a midsize that can tow 7500lbs.

Any and all CONSTRUCTIVE help is appreciated. How can you tell a truck's towing capacity from a manufacturer's spec sheet?

if ur pulling that weigth figure u need to pull 7000 lb minimum...call dealers and hitch instalers..[camper dealers] the dealers have facts...let mouse rest and go to supermarket...yes...supermarket and buy some boating/camping/ truck magazines and spend day reading up...use phone book to find and talk to REAL people who make and sell hitches and trucks...
