What is the maximum towing capacity on a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 regular cab short box with the 5.7 Hemi? (Please don't tell me to look in my owners manual or on the inside of my door.)What is the maximum towing capacity on a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500?
Go to www.dodge.com and check for yourself. There are different variables in towing capacity. Gear ratio, 4X4 or not, bed size, tires. What is the maximum towing capacity on a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500?
I think its appx. 8000 lbs. The redesigned rear suspension doesn't allow as much capacity as the 09 but allows more controlable towing. Go to the nearest dealer and get the sales brochure on the truck as some options and different available rear gears can make a difference. More than likely, it is the same as it has always been for all 1/2 ton trucks. 5000lbs rolling weight with 500lbs of weight on the tongue of the trailer. If not towing, then it would be 1000lbs in the bed. What really dictates the towing ability on modern trucks is the suspension more than the frame or axles because they all use the same frame and similar drivetrains for all 1/2 ton to one ton trucks.
I believe its 8710lbs.
