After looking at the receipt, we looked on the menu and drinks prices were not even there. It is pathetic how we are being taken advantage of to enjoy a meal with your spouse. It is unbelievably cheap for restaraunts to carry soft drinks. It is getting out of control. We just went to Ruby Tuesdays and paid $2.19 for a diet coke!! What can we as consumers do to stop this?
I was told that Coke and Pepsi recently raised their prices to cover transportation costs, because of the gas hikes in the US. Perhaps this has something to do with the exorbitant price of sodas at restaurants?
I know it's a crying shame, however, the US is a capitalist society and money rules this nation. It's unfortunate and I agree with you.We just went to Ruby Tuesdays and paid $2.19 for a diet coke!! What can we as consumers do to stop this?
Stop going there.
My sentiments exactly...stop going there! We just went to Ruby Tuesdays and paid $2.19 for a diet coke!! What can we as consumers do to stop this?
Bring your own pop to Ruby Tuesday's.
I agree with Tigerlil. Just don't go there.
Or... lay off the sodas. Did you feel that the rest of the meal was priced reasonably? If so, just stop drinking sodas. They don't have any good food value anyway and are generally over priced at any retail outlet. You may crave the drinks for a couple of weeks, but if you manage not to drink them for a few months and then try a sip, you'll be amazed at how bad they taste. We just went to Ruby Tuesdays and paid $2.19 for a diet coke!! What can we as consumers do to stop this?
Next time pack a lunch, and then eat it in the parking lot鈥?br>
Some people are just so damn cheap 鈥?/div>
If you didn't notice or didn't finish your diet coke..... that price probably included unlimited refills. Seems that all restaurants charge at least that much for any soft drink or sweet tea here in the south, but all have unlimited refills. So...in the long run...it works out.
stop buying it there
go to a fast food place,
diet Pepsi cost less there
You are paying for the meal to be cooked and served for you. Same for the drink. Stop going out.
i know what you are saying .... i don't buy soft drinks from very expinsive places i just get water most of the time...
Stop drinking coke.
If you seriously want to live a longer, happier, healthier life, drink filtered water. I think it will cost you somewhat less than softdrinks wherever you order it. And it won't rot your teeth or eat your gut.
All the best!

PLEASE don't come to eat at my restaurant if you can't afford $2.19 for a soda! You probably tip 5%! Do you realize that the average diet drinker will get at least 4 refills with one meal in a restaurant!? That is only 50 cents. I've seen people have up to 12 refills! What is wrong with you, anyway? Why do you drink it so fast? Do you just chug it because it is low calorie?
Same Idea.... Stop going there.......
