hi i just installed windows sp3 pro on a old linux computer and when it goes to startup it stays in the loading screen at the start it will boot in safe mopde with networking but not normal boot the comp kinda freezez the computer has a amd 1 ghz amd 786 mb ram 128mb agp nv video card and 40 hdd any ideas to why it will only boot in safe mode?Just installed windows xp pro sp3 on a linux comp problems?
Completely clean the HD with something other than the XP install disk. (zero fill, aef disk, etc.) Then reinstall XP and you should be good to go. Plus it would not hurt to check the HD health.Just installed windows xp pro sp3 on a linux comp problems?
I would just reinstall XP but make sure you format the whole drive before installing.
