My dog is a bully and its embarrassing ?

She is a very dominate french bulldog and she doesn't like when I give other dogs attention, she cannot be anywhere near another dog when her food is around or there will be a battle. When walking her down the street and we see other dogs she grinds her paws in the pavement and starts growling and trying to get at the other dog even though it could be 100 meters away, you wouldn't want to see the scene she makes when she gets close. She is very protective when she is on the leash for some reason.

I have tried to make her more socialized. There are always dogs at my parents farm and she is typically fine with them, but I can't pet any other dogs or she will start attacking. I've also tried taking her our huge dog park but she almost attacked a puppy one day and I decided that enough.

Other the being a ***** (pun intended) to other dogs she is awesome with babies, children, loves people to death, she lives for me, very smart, very obedient (besides when attacking innocent dogs), and she is great with cats.

Im obviously doing something wrong when it comes to her anxiety with other dogs. Has anyone else had a "bully" dog? Please leave tips that may help correct her grouchiness so I do not end up with a huge vet bill. Tips suggestions?

you are doing the right thing by bringing her to the dog park but try this it helped my bully dog.....



-sit with him/her on the sides of the dog park so it will get tired.

--stay on the sides so he will get used to seeing the dogs.

--- most important show the dog you are in control by pulling the leash up next to you.



french bulldogs have a bully nature its just what they do....

they may be small but im always surprised by how strong they are.My dog is a bully and its embarrassing ?
Have u ever tried to clap your hand loudly when your dog is about to bark or attack other dogs? That would distract your dog from attention to other dogs.

I have a few suggestions. Try what they do on it's me or the dog and Dog Whisperer. Take your Dog for a walk, and whenever it goes to bark firmly and quickly walk it in the other direction. When it stops barking praise and treat it. Keep doing this-it's called "distraction." If you walk by a fenced in dog. Keep a firm hold on the leash-don't yell and keep walking as relaxed as possible. Make sure she gets alot of exercise. If you want bring a can of coins and shake them and say "Shh." If it doesn't work, you can try behavioral training. Because if it is aggression-she may need more aggressive training. You can ask the vet or a behaviorist for suggestions. Since she did attack a puppy, and you don't want to lose your dog to the humane society: you may need to get a face collar lead. Or a muzzle.
omg yes but at least yours is a fair size dog.I have a 1/2 Pekingese and 1/2 poodle and he think he is the toughest dog in the world.And yes it is embarrassing as he's growling and barking at people while we are stopped at a red light.I will look over and people are laughing because he thinks he owns the world.I can never allow him around a strange dog because he picks a fight with them.And by the way he has gone to obedient school TWICE and it still doesn't do any good.So you might have to do as I do and keep him away from strange dogs.
