What are reasonable towing and storage fees after a car accident that is not your fault?

my car has been at towing yard at 50.00 a day while waiting for police report which has taken 30 days to complete,add 200.00 towing charge,is other driver's insurance company liable for whole amount? I was denied other driver's info at accident scene.What are reasonable towing and storage fees after a car accident that is not your fault?
Have you contacted the other insurance company? Have you contacted your own insurance company? What has the police report got to do with liability? Cops don't find liability, only the involved insurance companies do. Don't just do something, sit there!
I really can't see how the other insurance company would be responsible for your storage fees. They have not accepted liability for the claim, and you have a duty to mitigate your damages. That means that this is your car, and therefore your responsibility to prevent your vehicle from becoming further damaged, AND to have the vehicle towed out of that storage lot so it will stop accruing storage fees. 30 days in a tow lot isn't even CLOSE to reasonable, and you should have had it moved out of there (at your own expense) at least 27 days ago. Have you even asked the insurance company about this? Have you even contacted your own insurance?

You have to understand that the other insurance company isn't responsible for you or your car- they aren't your insurance company. And even though their customer hit you, this is still YOUR car, and the responsibility for it still lies with you.

Sorry, but most likely you are going to be stuck with this bill.What are reasonable towing and storage fees after a car accident that is not your fault?
Your insurance company should cover it. If the other person was at fault then there insurance company will pay for it. 30 days for a police report sounds really excessive. I would call the Police Department and get a copy of it that way. Should not be an issue except a small fee to get a copy of the report. I would call your insurance company again to ask them to get a copy also.
No- they are not responsible for the full amount. Reason being, it is not "reasonable" for you to let your car sit for an eternity while they investigate the loss. Its called "mitigating your damages." You should move it to a storage free location such as your house or a repair shop.

Accidents are not always cut and dry. Insurance companies have the right legally to investigate the claim throughly (including investigating coverage, getting police reports, talking to witnesses, etc.) before they pay. While they investigate, you cannot just sit and wait and expect it to be covered.

Again, I suggest you move it to a storage free location asap.What are reasonable towing and storage fees after a car accident that is not your fault?
I calculate $1,500 for storage plus $200 for towing and it is doubtful they will pay this, since this is not REASONABLE;;;;;;;;

In some cases and in some states, there are some police departments that can take a long time to get a police report. But after a few days, should have gone in person to the police and ask that they help you get this info asap due to your car in storage. But you just waited for this report and think, ok, the other company will pay for it. You could have had the car towed back to your house pending getting that info, so at least would not still be accruing daily storage charges. Or could have had it towed to a body shop, where most body shops will tow for free.

What if the other driver has no insurance? Or if the other drivers insurance company after they investigate this accident deems that he is not at fault or that you have some fault in this accident?

My guess is that by not mitigating your damages, the other company may pay "up to" a week max, so better take out your wallet and be prepared to pay.

Is your car still there? Sounds like it is.
