Is there a bully dog performance chip or programmer for a 1997 ford f150 4.6?

no because in 97 there is almost no sensors to program compared to newer cars and trucks, about the only change a power chip could do is to advance the timing (read nothing) all this did was create premature valve wear in most vehicles. Those power chips have been proven fakes for the most part. The only ones who get big changes are diesel owners, unfortunately even that has had problems, many vehicles have blown up, this led one manufacturer GM to start voiding warranty on people who installed chips. Save your money, and check with your mechanic before bolting on any worthless crap. Cold Air are another bunch of baloney. It has been proven they do not do what they say, and in fact many of the test results used wot or wide open throttle to claim 1.4 horsepower increase. Since you cannot run around town at wide open throttle, this makes buying the product worthless for you

These slick marketing ads are pathetic, but the word is getting around. Is there a bully dog performance chip or programmer for a 1997 ford f150 4.6?
No car or truck after the early 90's has a "chip" that can be replaced, so anybody selling a "chip" is full of BS. Usually what they are selling is a stupid resistor that fools the computer into dumping more fuel into the engine, which doesn't really give you more power and mainly wastes gas. To really change the engine programming you need a real tuner module or a computer interface and software, either of which are expensive. The only vehicles that you can really wring much power out of with tuner modules are turbos and turbo diesels, and they do that by increasing boost and fuel flow, which is hard on the engine and can easily wreck it. My advice is leave your truck alone and don't waste your money. Is there a bully dog performance chip or programmer for a 1997 ford f150 4.6?
