Sadly and Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to increase the towing capacity. The towing capacity is good already, but sadly you will not be able to increase it. Only thing I can suggest is to buy a bigger Truck
Sorry, you've got very limited towing options with that vehicle.
Yeah, having a max 2,000 pound towing limit won't do crap regarding towing except maybe a 14 to 16ft flatbottom fishing boat or a single PWC.
Just make sure you do your research well on the used vehicle you are going to use to do your utility work/towing. If you are not familiar with the important steps for inspecting each and sorting through different used truck choices, you might want to post this matter in a seperate thread.
There's nothing ever wrong with owning a good quality used full size truck for utility work and towing.
My example:
I own a 1986 Chevy C10 truck with factory replacement 350 instead of the stock 305. It's no showroom restored truck, but it isn't a rustbucket either.
It does everything I need it to and more, also I had two automotive mechanics and a used car dealer admire my truck's setup.
It's a good enough truck for me to regularly commute each day with it to my corporate IT job as a systems programmer. Is there anything I can do to increase the towing capacity of my Wrangler?
Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do to increase the towing capacity of your Wrangler. This really has nothing to do with power or the type of trailer hitch that your vehicle is equipped with. The Wrangler was primarily designed for off-road use, and while it CAN tow up to 2000 pounds when properly equipped, it was not designed to tow heavier loads. The Wrangler has a short wheel base, and if you attempt to tow anything heavier, you could experience a disastrous situation if you need to brake suddenly. The front end can become very unstable and you could lose control easily. Unfortunately, if you are going to need a long-term towing solution for the boat, you might want to look into a different vehicle.
Although the answers you received are correct
but not exactly factual. Yes it would be a tad
dangerous to over load your Jeep but there are
ways to increase the payload but figuring out the
load increase would be tough.
You could add a transmission cooler. You would
still have the safety factor to consider but if you
were towing short distance and drove more slowly then usual you could pull (no pun intended) it off.

I love boats and have quite a large one. Its too big to tow. But over the years I did have one that I towed and found it to be quite a pain with having to put it in the water etc. So I just leave it
at the marina and let them take care of it. That's
assuming that the water to boat in your area is big
enough to sustain one.
My suggestion? Forget about towing, buy a bigger boat, one with a bathroom is the way to go for me, and especially my wife. You can go out for extended stays and nothing but nothing beats time spent on the water1Is there anything I can do to increase the towing capacity of my Wrangler?
A couple of factors affect the capacity that you can tow. First, your hitch is either on the bumper or on a bracket mounted to the frame. If it's on the bumper, it will have a lower capacity than a frame mounted bracket. You can get frame mounted brackets installed aftermarket to replace the bumper mounted one. Second, you need to have an engine powerful enough to pull the trailer (boat). If you have a hitch on your bumper with a V6, you should stick to jet skis, not boats. If you have a big V8 and a bumper hitch, you could upgrade the hitch %26amp; you should be fine.
(Bit long, sorry.)
It's not a matter of what the engine or transmission can handle it is a matter of safety. The wrangler is just too small and short to safely control anything long or heavy being towed behind it.
The question is not can the Jeep tow it because it can, it is a question of should the Jeep tow it. And the answer is NO.
In an emergency situation where you may have to swerve, you, the Jeep and the boat will be toast.
I hate to say it, but the others are right. The limited tow capacity of a Wrangler is due to it being a very short, small vehicle. It's just not stable enough towing heavy items. The larger 4 door Wranglers are rated for 3500lbs, as they're more stable.
buy a ford truck and run that jeep over with it.then do donuts with your boat attached to it. or you could buy my truc with the t400 tranny and never worry about towing again because this thing will tow a house off the foundation.
